Zion Lutheran Church and School

Moved by the mission to build opportunity for Christian education, as well as maintaining a reputation of excellence in education, the parish leaders of Zion Lutheran Church and School in Pierce, Nebraska, sought campaign counsel to fundraise for a new building. Seeking a more efficient floor plan, new bathrooms, an expanded library and usable storage space, the new school building will meet the multiple needs of this school and church. Flexible space will allow for adding an extra classroom when needed, which will keep the student-teacher ratio low. The building will also adhere to modern ADA requirements with heightened security and sheltering areas, all lacking in the 100-year-old current school building. When planning began, the need for a roof replacement on the church became a secondary, but equally important, goal. The Zion Lutheran community chose the professional and tailored expertise of the Steier Group to conduct a planning study and subsequently execute the Now is the Time: Honoring Our Legacy, Building Our Future Capital Campaign. Exceeding the low-end goal, the Zion Lutheran Church and School community will be able to build a state-of-the-art facility and focus entirely on the commitment to students’ academic and spiritual development going forward.
